The Climax Molybdenum Technology Center (CTC) Has Introduced a New Molybdenum Metal Powder

PHOENIX, AZ, February 15, 2012 — The Climax Molybdenum Technology Center (CTC) has introduced a new molybdenum metal powder with superior particle size control that can reduce downstream process variation.

Climax's NPA molybdenum metal powder is produced using a proprietary reduction and blending process that yields a product having a narrow particle size range (Fisher Sub Sieve) from 4.0 to 4.8 microns. Improved powder mixing, sintering characteristics, and higher green strength are achieved without the use of milling. The resulting narrow particle size range should reduce process variation when used in the direct fabrication of metal parts via conventional powder metallurgy consolidation processes.
